About Me

From a dirt bike kid to world class FMX rider!

  • Early Years

    My Beginnings

With 50 years of riding experience, my motorcycle journey began when I was around 5 or 6, riding dirt bikes with my dad and family friends. I always rode with bigger, more experienced riders—until one day, I became that rider myself. By my teen years, I had built a reputation in my hometown as a skilled and versatile dirt bike rider, setting the stage for what was coming in the ’90s. Already a strong jumper and trick rider, I jumped into the emerging FMX (Freestyle Motocross) scene in the late ’90s, starting out with halftime shows at local motocross races, mud bogs, and monster truck events. Along with a few friends, we were about to take our skills to the world stage of FMX.

  • The 90's

    FMX Start

In 1999, we applied to compete in one of the world’s first organized FMX events in the USA—and we were accepted alongside some of the world’s best riders. Our first event went so well that I came home to Canada, quit my day job, and embarked on an incredible motorcycle journey that lasted nearly a decade. Throughout the 2000s, I competed in some of the biggest FMX events of the time, performing all over North and South America, including massive shows like the Gravity Games, which were similar to the X-Games. Along the way, I even appeared on the cover of several major magazines. Even Dirt Bike magazine cover shot!

  • The 2000's

    Transition From FMX

Needless to say, I loved entertaining fans and signing autographs for riders of all ages across the country for nearly a decade. This was my full-time career, and I did very well at it, but as one of the older riders, I chose to step away from the FMX roller coaster. After retiring in 2006 with only minor to moderate injuries, I started my own landscaping company in 2007—a job I managed in my downtime when I wasn’t out riding. In recent years, I’ve focused on developing my photography and videography skills to complement my riding. I launched a YouTube channel and built several social media accounts, most notably Instagram and Facebook, which together now reach nearly 100,000 followers. It’s been amazing to see the opportunities this has created to give back to the riding community.

  • Present Day

    Past, Present To Future

I mostly film myself riding in and around the backcountry of BC, Canada, sharing all kinds of riding adventures and tips on my YouTube channel. Creating this content takes a lot of time and commitment, but being self-employed gives me the flexibility to dedicate the hours needed. My YouTube community or Patreon page is a way to support the channel—if you enjoy the free riding videos, contributions like these help me spend more time filming, or eventually doing this full-time. Being on a bike and behind the camera is where I’m happiest. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to connecting with everyone! https://www.patreon.com/HeddleTown

News

You may have noticed a few changes around here. After many years of riding, filming, learning, and letting the journey evolve naturally, HeddleTowns Enduro Ride is now Heddles Adventures — a name that better reflects where the road has led and where it’s heading next.

My online Off Road Lessons continue to receive incredible feedback and have helped riders of all levels build confidence and skills off-road. You can explore the full lesson series here. If time permits, I may even offer limited in-person lessons as the year unfolds. A great example of this hands-on approach can be seen in a recent collaboration lesson filmed on the channel here. Looking ahead, expect more long-form and short-form content including plenty of two-stroke action, skill-focused lessons, ADV and dual-sport riding, technical terrain, and travel-driven adventures.

To get a quick feel for what my channel is all about, check out my newest intro video here — it’s a great starting point for new viewers and a taste of the adventures ahead.

If you're looking to level up your riding, the dedicated skill-building series is pinned in the Videos section above. You’ll also find quick tips, bike insights, and behind-the-scenes moments on YouTube Shorts. For regular updates and new releases, be sure to follow along on the official Heddles Adventures Facebook page and Instagram below.
